The Differences

What makes our approach different from others?

Why do we think we can succeed when others have missed to mark?

.

.

The Short Version

.

For the following ten reasons:

Instead of focusing only on the end result,
we focus on both the process and the end result.

Instead of the short-term only,  we consider both the short-term result and the long-term consequences.

Instead of blaming and scapegoating, we focus on finding the source of the problems and then direct our activities toward a resolution at the point of root cause.

.

.

Although you've probably already read the following seven differences on our home page,  we include them below as part of this page.

Instead of fighting losers, our program focuses on creating winners.

Instead of threats, our program  uses incentives.

Instead of destruction, our program focuses on creation.

Instead of treating symptoms, our program seeks, finds, and resolves the root causes of problems.

Instead of applying "more of the same" or doing  "the same thing harder," our program uses  an approach and takes actions that have not previously been applied to this problem.

Instead of spending a hundred or so million dollars on a major, unproven project, (innovation)  our program is  spending only a few thousand dollars on tried and tested ways of making personal transformations in small, doable increments,  (kaizen). '

Instead of tapping the public treasury, the program is  functioning on private donations  and on the assistance of people like you.

The long Version

What Makes Our Approach different

from the traditional social and business models?

We are including several important factors commonly ignored, blindly left out or intentionally suppressed in the traditional capital business model:

.

.

Here's a List of the Differences

End Results Only / Process Plus End Results

  Short-Term Fix / Long-term Solution

Fixing the Blame / Resolving the Problem

.

.

End Results           End Results      ...

1)   Instead of focusing only on the end result,
we focus on both the process and on the end result.

.

Business:   The Major corporate leaders and high-profile government officials use on a very different operational structure.   With corporations,  it's all about money.   The only consideration in most businesses is the bottom line, the end result.  That result is measured by the quarterly financial report.   To hell with the employees or the environment, if the quarterly report show a less than that of our competitors,  we are losers.    Don't let that happen!

Politics:   Politics is played with a very similar consciousness.   For high-profile government officials such as governors, congressmen, senators, presidents and the like, the bottom like is getting themselves re-elected,  or keeping their power-group in control, or satisfying those who pay for election financing, or all of the above.   Looking good consumes a major portion of their time and energy.    Some of the more common techniques for manipulating public consciousness are explained in the section titledThe Con Artists' Handbook. '

Our Perspective:    Money and power are not  our priorities -- people are!   As a human species, the well-being of each individual is the key component to the collective success or failure.   If the individual components of a collective are healthy and functional, the collective is healthy and functional.  If a high percentage of individuals are sick, broken, or otherwise dysfunctional, society is on the path to misery, destruction, and potential death.

One cannot ignore a portion of a group, or tool, or process  and expect it to function properly.   For example, what portion of a commercial jet can the airline company ignore.  What ingredient of the next meal you prepare can be rotten?   What part of your car's engine can be defective?

We are all in this together.    We are presently riding on the Cosmic  Version of the Titanic. '  What do you chose to be and do about this undeniable fact of present-day Earth-life?

.

.

.

Short Long        Short Long       ...

2)  When facing a problem, instead of the short-term-fix only,  we consider the short-term response, the long-term consequences, and all possible resolutions.

.

Short-Term Fix:   The short-term fix is usually goes something like this:   Yes we know there's a problem, but if we bring it out, people will associate us with the problem and that will cost votes, money and the lessoning of our power.   So lets just ignore the problem.

If we can't ignore it, offer something that:  1)  makes us look good,  2)  that covers up the problem and 3)  that pushes it our of site.   But don't propose anything that would really resolve this because our buddies (those financing our re-election campaigns) are making a lot of money off this, and we don't want them mad at us.

Short-Term Analysis and Long-term Resolution

Human survival depends upon finding or creating and maintaining sustainable, long-term policies, practices, and behaviors.   Everything about life on Earth is part of a closed loop.  There are no open-ended behavior patterns.     There are make-believe open ended patterns  that humans can sustain for short periods of time, but, like it or not, sooner or later, the consequences always come.   We can push the consequences into the future, but we cannot eliminate them.  We can make others pay those consequences, but we cannot eliminate them.    We can pretend that there are no consequence, but we cannot eliminate them.

Every action we take that, in any way, affects our environment, triggers a response from nature.  That response is absolutely unavoidable.   This law of action / reaction is fixed, immutable, and if ignored, the results can be and often are, painful or even deadly.  Only a fool ignores the laws of gravity or electricity.   And those who do, usually don't live to ignore those laws a second time.

What we are doing to our environment is ignoring the laws.  Nature's response is not as instantaneous as defying the laws gravity or electricity, but such violations are just as painful and equally as deadly.    Another main differences is that the response often kills far more that just the one who violated the laws.

.

.

.

scapegoating          ...

3)  Instead of blaming and scapegoating, we focus of finding the source of our problems and applying our activities and resolutions at the point of root cause.

.

Blaming and Scapegoating,

When we examine the way present society deals with insider, criminal  behavior and with business and political graft and corruption, (i.e. high-profile crime - crime by the so-called leader of society)  we see a clear and distinct repetitive pattern.   This pattern is the modernization of and ancient tradition.   In olden days, each year all the village elders would (symbolically and with a ritual)  pile all the bad or evil things in the community onto a goat and then drive the goat our of town.   When a problem arises, the modern version of scapegoating is employed to "solve" the problem.  Here's how the scam works:

Step one is to feign shock and dismay that anybody would be so bad as to do "whatever the team of wheeler and dealers got caught doing."

Step two  is to look for someone to blame.

Step three is to claim that this individual is the source (the complete source and the only cause) of the problem.

Step four is to throw him out of whatever position or office he held.

Step five is to punish him with jail time or a financial fine.

Step six is to declare that the problem has been solved.

Step seven is to publicize their own actions and publicly pat themselves on the back for solving this terrible problem.

Step eight is to go back to business as usual;  perhaps under a different label, or in a different office, with different men doing the dirty work.

Step nine has two variations  a)  Eliminate/punish/destroy the scapegoat if he didn't cooperate in the scam,  or  b)  When he heat is off pardon the offender and/or pay him off indirectly -- indirectly so their is no traceable link to any on the scapegoat's cronies.

Step ten:   "Everybody lives happily ever after."

This fairytale is closely akin to the stories about the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny, but it's used time after time.  Why?   Because it works.    The public buys it.   Four addition factors lead to the success of this scam:

Most people have short memories and all-too-soon the incident is forgotten.

The spin doctors (people paid to  lie by omission)  continue the P. R. campaign at a reduced intensity.   History is pushed in the desired direction.    A suitable variation of the story becomes the "accepted truth."

Christian theology comes into play.   The spin doctors declare the criminal a good guy again by leaning on the public's belief in the Christian act of forgiveness.

After a period of time, the people think the the bird has changed its feather.    The "white-collar" criminal is no longer considered to be a criminal.

This mind-altering, memory-altering technique  is a variation on the theme from Adolph Hitler:   "Tell a lie loud enough, often enough and long enough, people will believe it.   We could examine some clear example, but what's the point.   The public isn't interested in the truth and the scum bags that peddle lies get angry when their sleazy activities are revealed.

.

Resolution at the Point of Root Cause.

In order to resolve our social, political, economic, religious, and environmental  problems we must engage is the highly unpopular process of looking at ourselves and finding that  the sources of our problems are within us.   The major sources of our problems stem from the fairytale beliefs that rule our lives.  Fairytales like:   We are separate from nature.   We are separate from Creator/God.   We are separate from each other.   We are  powerless victims of our external world.  Punishment solves problems.   We can destroy our environment and not reap the consequences.   Et cetera.  etc.  etc. . .  Reference:  Cosmic Titanic. '

Notes and References

Cosmic Titanic          ...

Welcome to the Cosmic Titanic:

Whether you choose to admit it or not, we live in  very dysfunctional,  political, religious, social, environmental, and economic structures.   The vast majority of our collective human behaviors are not sustainable.   Behaviors such as unbridled population growth, wanton environmental destruction, indiscriminate pollution, et cetera,  are leading us down the pathway to a massive and rather sudden population reduction.

On a global level, we are all riding a Cosmic version of the Titanic.  Symbolically speaking, we are traveling at full speed, in the dark, in iceberg-filled waters, with the captain and all  the officers asleep in their cozy little cabins of illusion.   And what have they inspired us to do while they sleep?   Spend our time and energy fighting over the deck chairs.   Why do we fight instead of cooperate?   Because most of us live our lives as mindless sheep, simply following  someone else's instructions.
